While St. Barths Activities is currently still under development,
we would like to inform you of some important news.
The airport in St. Barths will be closed for at least six weeks for
runway replacement construction, beginning in September 2004. That
means that there will be no aircraft traffic possible to and from St.
Barths.
The closing period will be from September 5, at 6PM until October
16, 8AM. Of course this the scheduled closing period.
Also, as of July 12 construction preparations will start taking
place, heavy equipment will be brought in. Air traffic may be
restricted as part of the aircraft parking apron will be closed.
Through
Saint Martin Activities we will be offering you a few alternative
methods of transportation from St. Maarten to St. Barths by boat, of
course at our usual discounted rates!
- One is the brand new luxurious high speed ferry the Rapid
Explorer. This is a jet propulsion powered ferry that has an
aircraft like seating capacity of 150, and takes you to St. Barths
in less than 30 minutes in air conditioned comfort. More info
